AKESOgen in partnership with Identitas provides solutions to identify individuals and groups based on their DNA profile. We evaluate SNPs to extract greater insight from DNA samples than has previously been possible. A proprietary software package is utilized that is an all-in-one solution that predicts:

By combining these data sets in a single test the proprietary software solution is able to generate investigative leads more rapidly than traditional approaches, while using nanogram amounts of DNA.
Product applications include:

The software solution is a comprehensive platform for phenotypic screening that allows investigators to generate far more detailed investigative leads from DNA samples than has previously been possible.
Powerful all-in-one solution
The proprietary software employs a computationally powerful approach that examines SNPs to develop a profile that describes the physical appearance of an individual. This comprehensive test creates highly specific phenotypic predictions from a single DNA sample, combining data related to:
- biogeographic ancestry
- relatedness/kinship analysis
- gender
- Y and mitochondrial haplotype
- physical appearance (hair color, eye color, etc.)
When an individual’s genetic profile is not present in existing criminal databases (such as CODIS), investigators have traditionally had limited options to gain meaningful insights from the DNA evidence. In such cases, the aggregate SNP profile is able to push beyond these limitations to predict an image of the subject, along with information about their recent environment (e.g. by the presence of non-human DNA evidence in the case of a dog owner), with a high degree of accuracy.
Cost effective, requiring nanogram amounts of DNA
Because the comprehensive SNP panel can be run using a single DNA aliquot for all tests, the software requires less DNA than traditional approaches, saving valuable DNA, as well as time and money.
Results you can trust
The proprietary software uses advanced anthropometric and statistical methodology to evaluate each SNP against large-scale genomic and phenotypic reference datasets. For each variable analyzed, the software generates a quality score that enables investigators to assess the reliability of that particular prediction. This allows investigators to prioritize information extracted and proceed with greater certainty about the results of the analysis.
Simple, effective process
Client submits DNA directly to AKESOgen who genotype the sample, perform the analysis and send back a detailed report to the client.
Easy to interpret reports
The software provides rapid, automated analysis of genotyping data. The software generates comprehensive reports that have a simple, straightforward, and highly informative interface. Example below:
