Epigenomic profiling by DNA methylation is important in the regulation of gene expression and is known to play a critical role in the development of cells. Aberrant methylation is linked to in the etiology of many human diseases including cancer. For the investigation of genome-wide methylation patterns Illumina employs its Infinium based technology that quantitatively interrogates more than 450,000 CpG loci across the genome.
AKESOgen has many years experience performing epigenomic studies by assaying the 450K methylation sites on a whole genome scale. We perform bisulphite treatment of DNA followed by Illumina’s 450K chip technology.
It is also possible to perform methylation profiling services on highly degraded samples such as Paraffin Embedded Formalin Fixed (FFPE) material.
